OUR MISSION

To actively seek knowledge and experience in gardening to enhance and preserve the beauty of Olmsted Falls and the surrounding areas

Welcome to Our Website!

Thank you for visiting the Olmsted Falls Garden Club website.  Gardening is a lifelong learning process that is ever evolving. Our members are eager to share their knowledge and tips they have learned along the way from other gardeners, with visitors to our garden club meetings, and at our Annual Plant Sale held the first Sunday in May.  You may say we are enthusiastic gardeners who also love to learn more about gardening through the interesting and enlightening speakers at our monthly meetings.

Olmsted Falls Garden Club members are a diverse group which includes members from Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township and several surrounding communities… All are welcome. We are perennial gardeners who enjoy actively supporting our mission to enhance and preserve the beauty of Olmsted Falls and the surrounding areas by maintaining the Olmsted Falls gardens – A labor of love by playing in the dirt.

We further reach out to and support the local community through community service projects, such as Falls Day in the Park, supporting the teaching of gardening techniques to some of the local school children, providing live bouquets to local senior living facilities, maintaining Village of the Falls raised gardens, and providing Christmas greens to adorn the community service buildings.

We continue our supportive efforts in a broader way through membership as an Affiliate Garden Club to Holden Forest & Gardens.  Yearly, we have decorated perennial planters for the Hershey’s Children’s Garden at the Cleveland Botanical Garden and decorated a Christmas Tree for their “Frost” winter event.

This past year we raised a nice amount from our Annual Plant Sale in May to contribute to our community charities including Boy Scouts, Christians in Action, Berea Animal Rescue Fund, Julie’s Kids at Applewood, Olmsted Falls Community Center, St. Thomas Episcopal, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Olmsted Falls High School, and Holden Forest & Gardens.

We also welcomed several new members this past year, while retaining the wonderful, welcoming membership we have had over our 36+ years.

This is an invitation to come join us the fourth  Thursday of every* month at the Olmsted Falls Community Center (lower level) to see what we are all about and why we enjoy being members of the Olmsted Falls Garden Club.  We look forward to meeting you…growing & learning with you!

Warmest regards,

Shirley Swindell and Sheila Ashcraft

Co-Presidents, Olmsted Falls Garden Club
