Our Annual Plant Sale

Sunday, May 5, 2024
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

NEW LOCATION FOR 2024:
KIDSFIRST LEARNING CENTER PARKING LOT
26184 Bagley Rd, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138

Our Selection!  Our large (1000+) selection offers plants and flowers for both sun and shade in over 100 varieties, all locally grown.  In fact, most of our plants come from the gardens of our members or their friends.  They're called divisions.  As perennial plants grow larger over the years, they need to be divided periodically to help ensure their good health.

Why Perennials?!  Unlike annuals that die off in the fall and require gardeners to re-plant them every year, perennials 'hibernate' and come back every year!  In fact, you may have heard of the adage, "The first year, they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year, they leap!"   This means they establish their roots the first year, grow a bit the second year, and grow even more the following year, helping to fill in your garden!

You won't believe our prices!  Really!    They're far below those found at big box stores.  And, properly cared for, our plants will fare better than those grown and trucked in from other parts of the country.    The proceeds from your purchases  help support our local philanthropy and the education of our members.

Where are the blooms?!  If you come to our plant sale expecting all of the plants to be in bloom, you might be new to Northeast Ohio.  The only plants in bloom will be those that normally bloom around the first part of May.  We will have photos on hand for most of our plants, so you can see what they look like in bloom.   Using Google image on your cell or ours will help you with the rest.

How do we do it?!  Preparation for each sale begins right after our sale the year before!  Yes, we do take breaks, but come spring, we're dividing and re-potting plants in preparation for our sale.  We go big, because the sale is our sole fundraiser.  We even plan our sale to fall on the first Sunday of May (rain or shine) each year to give you time to plant your purchases and to give your plants time to settle in before the hot summer weather.
